Description

Woodland Barbarians is an independent game studio located in Hamburg (Germany). The studio was founded in 2013 by Bernhard Mies, Peter Wood and Joerg Doneit with the goal to create games and services by bringing together what belongs together: friendship, dreams and craftsmanship. We love the idea of creating innovative and significant games and want to participate in the new wave of independent game development. We like to connect with other creatives and gamers to explore new approaches to gaming…

History

Woodland Barbarians started out as a collaboration of freelance designer Peter Wood and freelance software engineer Bernhard Mies with the intention of creating games they personally would like to play. Both met in their former company and quicky became friends sharing the same interests. After successfully finishing an initial freelance "work for hire"-project, the team was completed by former qa-lead and fellow student Jörg Doneit. In early 2013 we placed a focus on the development of our first independently produced title Neurokult. Having no official HQ, our working space has to be highly flexible, ranging from the kitchen and living room to the garden and nearby coffee shop using tools like skype, git and regular meetings.
